Title Image, Poetic Love, Poem: Shooting Star By Sherry Heim

Your heart’s a wild pony
Not wishing to be tame
The fate of all your lifetime
Is all there is to blame

You’ve had your share of loneliness
Funny how it goes
Seems freedom more than happiness
Is the solo path you chose

My heart it came to wake you
To bring you loving light
To show the joy that sharing brings
And hold you through the night

But freedom tugs so hard on you
Your soul wants to be freed
Lonely seems a comfort place
Where pangs of sadness breed

Love is really like the tide
So restless and so free
For every wave that breaks the shore
One rolls back out to sea

It’s give and take where freedom lies
Not solitary life
With love and understanding
There really IS no strife

It’s sad for me the path you choose
To keep your heart at bay
From feelings, love, acceptance, fate
You choose to walk away

My love is strong, my feelings clear
Unrequited though they seem
My heart still loves, laughs and sings
If only in my dream
