Poetic Love, Love Poetry, Love Has gone

Love Has Gone

My love has gone and does not write.
How can the stars maintain their flight
Or mountains retain their lofty height?
How can the sun still glow and shine-
My friend has gone, no longer mine.

My friend has gone and does not write.
Why does the sea still ebb and flow?
Why still rain and hail and snow,
And gusty winds still sigh and whine?
My friend has gone, no longer mine.

He said he love me - a mistake!
We were not free to give or take.
How can the flowers still bloom and grow?
Others lives seem so normal now,
They can still laugh, or wine and dine,
But love has gone, no longer mine.
