Poetic Love Poem, "Trying So Hard"

Although I try so hard to conceal it,

I'm aglow when you're around.

I'm afraid my eyes would soon deceive me,

And my world would come tumbling down.

Being so close a friend to you

Is more than I could hope for.

Your friendship has meant the world to me....

I don't expect anything more.

Thank you for being the gentleman that you are,

And for humouring the dreamer that I am.

Thank you for choosing to be around me at times,

For being around you is more soothing than balm.
